Every tie, has its perfect knot. But you've got to take care of a few details more...
How tall are you? What's the collar of your shirt width? What style are you wearing?
Depending on the answers to these questions you can find the right choice amongst these classic tie knots.
1) The Small Knot: it is perfect if your tie is short, or if you are long. Using less layovers than all other knots, it will save fabric for a perfect falling on your chest. It also fits perfectly on small shirt collars since it keeps the knot very tiny.
2) The Four-in-hand Knot: this is half way between the simple knot and the Windsors. It will help you shorten your tie a little bit in case your tie is long (or you are short) while leaving the knot small. It is perfect for skinny and slim ties.
3) The Half Windsor Knot: both the Windsors use a lot of fabric helping you shorten your tie, this is a bit smaller than the following one.
4) The Windsor Knot: this method produces a wide symmetrical knot, which is good for perfectionists, and for spread or cutaway collared shirts, since they fit better with larger knots. It also helps youshorten you tie a lot, saving the shorter ones from appearing shorter.
